Mark Reyland’s FlipSide Quilting Rulers ‘MORE OF HIS LIES” !

As you will read below Mark Reyland claims a couple different things that are lies. He claims the inventor’s had a License deal with a Manufacturing company then caught them selling out the back door.  That wasn’t the case at all because the inventor’s had their own manufacturing facility in Ohio so why would they have another company manufacturing their product for them. The company Reyland talks about is a Distribution Services Firm also located in Ohio still in business and there career wasn’t ended like Reyland likes to claim.

See for yourself below.

For me it’s quilting rulers….I know, I didn’t know they had their own rulers either.
A friend of mine has a patent ( #7032534 ) for a double sided foil print process that has been used for manufacturing these acrylic quilting rulers – he had a license agreement with a manufacturer for the last 4 years – but he caught them selling out the back door. So he took them to court and ended their career in the quilting ruler business.
So he called me one day and asked if I would pick up the manufacturing…..of course after I looked at the sales data and found 2.5 million in sales per year. I said yes.
So now I’m moving the manufacturing to China, and rebranding them, and should have them ready for national reps by February 09 ….or at least that’s the plan anyway….
Ok...Breaks over....Back to inventing

After digging into the Lawsuit Reyland claims put the company out of business we found the case was actually dismissed. Wow is this guy full of $hit or what.

Inventors Patent and Assignee info below.

The statements below were made by Reyland just over one year ago about the FlipSide Rulers being licensed to a company in California Well that’s another lie also. Mark Reyland and his business partners don’t have any control over the inventor’s product or patent anymore.

Google the inventors name and give him a call, they will tell you Mark Reyland’s a BIG BLOW HARD LIAR and did nothing for them or their product to get them to retail.

UPDATE: Since I wrote this (several months ago) we have licensed the entire line of FlipSide (www.flipsiderulers.com) quilting rulers to a manufacturer in California, and 4 additional quilting products I developed for my quilting friends to the largest quilting products manufacturer in the world. The lesson here is that sometimes you have to immerse yourself in the consumer’s world to truly understand what they want.

Wow did the United Inventors Association really screw up by not digging into Mark Reylands background before hiring him as the UIA Executive Director. They hired a Conman

Reyland's Inflated Claims Sinking Fast! PT1

This post is in 2 parts for blog stability...

By doing some standard Google research on Mark Reyland’s 3D Vehicle Wraps that he claims are patented was pretty easy to dig up. You will see below Mark claims his wraps are patented in the USA and Internationally. He also indicates a 3.8 Million dollar license deal in the advertising industry, plus a STUPID statement that The Department of Commerce Innovation Marketplace valued annual sales of this product at over 363 Million dollars a year! True be told, Reyland used a program which relies 100% on user input. In other words, Mark entered inflated numbers and claims which resulted in an inflated market evaluation.

Not even inventor, Roger Brown, is going to be able to save Mark on this one.
Below is a post in a design forum. But wait, doesn’t Mark have designers working for him for his many retail products on many shelves in many countries? Remember, he claims to be doing this for many years. (we think he likes the word " many" because it's easier to keep track of one word than it is the different numbers he makes up as he goes along)

3D Vehicle Wrap Designs 04-98-2007http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26164

Hello all,

Im not a designer, and i'm not in the Vehicle Wrap industry - Our shop just patented a process for using 3D appliques on vehicle wraps and I am looking for feedback from the design community about the impact of being able to design real 3D into a 2D graphic.

Do you think this will give more freedom in designs?

Will designers embrace this - or reject it as gimmik?

What do you think about the overall idea?

Thanks in advance for your feedback. You can see some images of the first project to ever use this technique at
www.innovativebrand.com

Note on 4/8/2007 Mark Reyland indicates his 3D Vehicle Wraps are Patented. As you read deeper into the graphics design forum you will see he changes his tune ,,,it’s now only a Patent Application,
The info below is from another forum he was “whoring” around on with his made up BS. Notice the dates on his post in both forums. Ten days after he made the statement in the graphics design forum he says his vehicle wraps have an International Patent.

Steve,
You're killin me here....it hasn't been done before - I assure you. We were able to get an international patent on this process. 3D on vehicles has been done, sure. But not in this way.
As for the shape....the core of this is vacuum forming. If you can vacuum form the shape you can make it into an applique. You can't vacuum form a razor as an entire piece. But I bet we could come up with a way to make one into an applique just doing it in sections.

Here’s ANOTHER claim in a post on Edison Nation as he ‘competes’ with others.

Help On Sell Sheet PLEASE??? Edison Nation Forumhttp://www.edisonnation.com/forums/selling/topics/help-on-sell-sheet-please

Still no answer on the You Eva and that Mark guy walking the show floor of the hardware show looking for inventors and people to broker license deals…Now, Eva and Mark have admitted they are charging people for getting them license deals. So my guess is we can assume since the 3 of you are doing business together that you are charging people as well.
Since I give out my information for free – it would also stand to reason that you making money off these people would be harder to do if people like me don’t charge them for what you charge them for….could have something to do with your attacks on me….wow not hard to figure that one out.
So what is the % you are charging for helping these people get a license deal Mike?…what experience are they getting for their money?….and why is it that your little invention submission company doesn’t fall under the Inventor Protection Act?…. or does it? (I’m kidding, I know it does)
Ok I have 7 products on store shelves, I offered to send them to you so you could see how a product looks after it’s developed, I have at least 6 more that will be on shelves by the end of the year. I average 42% profit on my products and I am in the middle of developing a national distribution system that should increase our North American sales by about 75%. I have 5 patents under application. I am the Founder and CEO of 3 companies, and I have a 3.8 Million dollar license deal that will sign next month for an invention I developed in the advertising industry. I mentor several inventors at a time, and all of them are well on their way to seeing their inventions on store shelves. I have degrees in both Intelligence Collection, and Marketing and Advertising.
You’re turn sport…. What do you do?

Is this below contest, where Reyland planned to get his licensing deal from?

Notice the Status below “Abandoned Failure To Respond to an Office Action. Mark Reyland and his Patent Attorney couldn’t overcome 29 out of 30 rejected patent claims by the USPTO Examiner. What that means is there’s NO United States Patent on Reyland’s 3D Vehicle Wraps

Mark Reyland Gives You The Finger ...

Mark Reyland's quote on Edison Nation forum
As far as industry inventions – I’ve invented several things including 3D Vehicle Wraps (http://www.innovativebrand.com/) and several other technologies that I can’t really talk about publicly because they are either in development or involved in deal negotiations.

On the retail products side of things I created and/or developed…..
The Game Paw (Cat style foam finger) Cincinnati Bengals Style, UC and UK
The University of Cincinnati Mascot Basketball Figure
The University of Kentucky Mascot Basketball Figure

Let’s take a look at Mark’s Game Paw (Cat style foam finger), the University of Cincinnati Mascot Basketball Figure and the University of Kentucky Mascot Basketball Figure.

Mark, if you invented the products how come none of them are on the market “for sale”. I/WE don’t see anything indicating you have a Licensing agreement with the National Football League (NFL), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC). Did he think no one would ever ask that question at some point? Hmmmm I guess Conmen/liars do screw up don’t they.

Read the Licensing Rules below.

Years ago a friend was looking into licensing a product to the NFL (same rules apply to the college, NCAA)

1st. Your product has to be approved.
2nd. you sign an agreement to pay them an upfront licensing fee. They are NOT licensing from the product, the product is licensing the team name!
3rd. Once you get over the hefty name licensing fee(over $100,000.00), you now sign another agreement stating you will give them an ongoing royalty. None of this 2% stuff either.
4th. The royalty MUST meet a minimum each year for the duration of the contract. Again, usually in the hundreds of thousands.

If Reyland had this, don't you think he would be tooting his horn all over the place? Chances are more so that he never took the time to learn the process and knew nothing of the procedure and could actually be showing off some illegal (pirated) designs which he could be sued over. If he has the documentation showing he has the rights to produce these pieces, by all means, show them and we'll remove this. We're confident we're right and he has no such documentation.

As I’m trying to figure out if all the other foam fingers on the market are infringing on Mark’s so called “Game Paw”. Or is he infringing on theirs. Im sure he will say he isn’t because his product is a different size and made out of a state of the art foam he formulated/invented……That’s the same quote he made when Tania found out he was added to her Provisional Patent Application by his “former “Patent Attorney/Business Partner Mark Smith. Mark thinks because he decided on the size of Tania’s product and material he has to be listed as a co-inventor. GeeWizz she could of proved her invention concept with a Fruit Roll UP or huge Tootsie Roll and Mark want to claim co-inventor status.. He probably thinks he invented silicone rubber also since the product was made out of it.
We hear he tried being co-inventor because of the packaging? Who cares how the packaging is? She did know the size and even the material used. Mark even denies how the manufacturer makes them. He says there's no glue holding the 2 parts together when there clearly is and the manufacturer states there is. So who doesn't know how it's made, Reyland?

Maybe he invented these fingers also…..

Anyone can google Mark Reyland’s Game Paw (Cat style foam finger), the University of Cincinnati Mascot Basketball Figure and the University of Kentucky Mascot Basketball Figure. See what you come up with in your research. I’m betting it’s all his info he wrote or promoted. Nothing but Lies at the end of the day!

Hey inventor with the disposable bib, listed on Match Product (from Invention Home), be careful! He was after your invention just over a year ago! He searched down the patent, couldn't find it and wanted to develop it as his own!
Stay tuned for More of Mark Reyland’s lies.
Next up 3D Vehicle Wraps and how they arent patented like Mark says they are

The Ever Changing Claim of Threat

The First claim-

Mark reyland claims to be stalked, along with his family. NOT TRUE and we guess this didn't get the response he was hoping for.
When this happens, what does a conman do? Change the claim!

Second claim-

Mark Reyland and a few inventors are being stalked- NOT TRUE and we guess this also didn't work as well as expected.

What would be the ultimate for a conman to claim now in hopes of rallying the troops?

This third claim-

Now there is no claim of Mark Reyland or his family, only inventors! now inventors are being stalked? NOT TRUE!

When he writes, "As many of you know" he's merely suggesting the information is wide spread, which it is not because he only recently MADE IT UP! It's a classic slimy salesman approach when speaking to people they attempt to influence. It only works on a small % of the population but he likes to think differently.
Conmen change tactics in order to gain what they need or want. They don't care how they get it. They cheat, steal and lie in order to reach their goal.

No inventors are being stalked, and Mark's family was never stalked by anyone as far as we can tell or as far as Mark can show.  Mark doesn't want this to be his lone battle, so he's dragging others in where they really don't belong. Proof shows the opposite and Mark Reyland does not care how far he goes to hurt others. Mark is the stalker and this blog is dedicated to the cause of whistle blowing.
http://markreylandemail.blogspot.com/2011/10/busted-again.html

Unless you are an inventor planning to hurt other inventors, along with Reyland, you are perfectly safe from the many scanning the Internet and working to expose Mark Reyland. There is no stalking involved and there is no hurting of his family.

Mark Reyland is either a sloppy conman or he believes his own lies, which probably makes him a Psychopath. Neither one is good. He probably forgets what is still out there seeing as he's had SO many posts deleted in the past by administrators after threatening them with lawsuits. There's still plenty out there Reyland.

Has Reyland said to you-

You are not like the other inventors. You understand the process
You stand out from the rest
Welcome to the big kid pool
How does it feel to step out of the kiddie pool?
How does it feel to play with the big boys?

He says these things to most inventors he speaks with only to make fun of them later. He has even been reported to make fun of some inventors to other inventors.
Although we're sure you have seen this test before Mark, you might want to look at it again. Everyone who knows you can actually check off the boxes. ALL of the boxes!

Whistleblower

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For other uses, see Whistleblower (disambiguation).

Federal Government of the United States's whistleblower awareness poster
A Fox 40 whistle from the late 1980s
A whistleblower (whistle-blower or whistle blower)[1] is a person who tells the public or someone in authority about alleged dishonest or illegal activities (misconduct) occurring in a government department, a public or private organization, or a company. The alleged misconduct may be classified in many ways; for example, a violation of a law, rule, regulation and/or a direct threat to public interest, such as fraud, health/safety violations, and corruption. Whistleblowers may make their allegations internally (for example, to other people within the accused organization) or externally (to regulators, law enforcement agencies, to the media or to groups concerned with the issues).

One of the first laws that protected whistleblowers was the 1863 United States False Claims Act (revised in 1986), which tried to combat fraud by suppliers of the United States government during the Civil War. The act encourages whistleblowers by promising them a percentage of the money recovered or damages won by the government and protects them from wrongful dismissal.[2]

Whistleblowers frequently face reprisal, sometimes at the hands of the organization or group which they have accused, sometimes from related organizations, and sometimes under law.
Ive been asked in the past from forum member's if I would give a Lesson on Research, and Patent/Application searching due to me being considered pretty darn good in it.....
Sherri, glad to hear you are doing your homework up front. We need to get more people doing that. Your suggestion to get Gizmo to do a patenting exercise is great. I have always said he is extremely good at doing those types of searches. I asked him if he would try and put something together in this thread http://www.edisonnation.com/forums/other/topics... but he never responded back. I think everyone would learn something new if he would do it.

I’m getting a little better at patent searching than I was when I first stumbled upon EN (Many thanks to Talva!) but still have lots to learn and understand! Patent searches on the USPTO site are very confusing; it would be nice if Gizmo would publish a directory of search terms, symbols, and procedures.
I had two searches performed by registered patent attorneys, plus at least three on my own, and the examiner still found three conflicting patents.

Hey Gizmo, Mark, you both hit the nail on the head. You would not believe how many Invenotrs contact me daily asking me to review their idea and are shocked when I find their idea within minutes already for sale on the web. That is without even trying to look it up doing a patent search.
A patent search is the one of the first things I tell them to do before throwing money away having the idea prototyped or investing in CAD drawings. I have to admit you are the king of patent searches. You always find ones I wouldn’t have thought to look for.

David, you would be surprised how many Inventors contact me after they have already sunk a ton of cash into a project wanting me to help get their idea to market. The problem is that most of the time I find their product within a couple of minutes on the net. So, I am not sure why they didn’t spend some time doing the same thing and save themselves a lot of expense.
It isn’t rocket science to do a search between the patent office and Google patent search.
Now, for the hard to find items I proclaim Gizmo the king of the searches. That guy can find a patent no matter where it is hiding.

Good advice Gizmo - It’s great to get some advice from someone who searches professionally.
Like you said searching patents is far more difficult than people think. And to an inventor it’s a critical step in the start of the process. An inventor should NEVER invest a bunch of money in an idea before they have had at least a cursory patent search done.
I like the new web site Gizmo (

I have to agree with both Roger and Gizmo – you need more data before you start saying someone stole something – you just may not fully understand how this industry works. In the end I doubt EN violated your trust, it’s not their style.
As for patent searches – Gizmo is a pit bull – We always use him for our searches because we know he will get to the bottom of the pile to find everything out there. With over 10 million patents you need to have someone who is really good at churning through the data. For Gizmo it’s a gift.posted about a year ago ()

No my patent searching ability isnt a gift. It took me years to MASTER the process with hard work and determination. By the way there are not 10 Million Patents in the USA...Ask Mr. JohnDoe
On August 16th 2011 the USPTO issued patent number 8 Thousand. Now if the statement from Reyland in the above quote said 10,000 patents and published applications he would be correct...... :)

I'm pretty SURE I QUALIFY, so it's time I give a Combination Lesson that involves Basic Google Research & Patent/Applications . I'm even going to teach how to get into the USPTO Public Pair System to view an entire Patent Application file report.
Lets call it Lesson # 2  How to Research and back up what you located ! . Im going to use all the Product Claims below in the lesson. It will be so easy any Novice Inventor/idea person can follow my path.

Fraud and falsehood only dread examination. Truth invites it.

..but it doesn't stop there. He has other fantasies of who he wants to be, like special ops agent, Anthony High, according to this profile he created here...

The person below was asked
If you have information involving me where you can show that I have scammed an inventor PLEASE let’s hear it – otherwise quit insinuating things you clearly know nothing about

Look “Dev” obviously you are not really who you say you are….so right off the bat you have some hidden agenda or an ax to grind.

I don’t have an inventing company – and I didn’t scam anyone, not your family member or anyone else. I help inventors by educating them, I don’t charge them, and I don't take their IP - It's that simple.

If you have information involving me where you can show that I have scammed an inventor PLEASE let’s hear it – otherwise quit insinuating things you clearly know nothing about.

As for what Sarah is talking about – you have a huge chance of getting scammed with a system like Quirky where right off the bat just posting you idea may be considered public disclosure. Hundreds of people look the idea and you don't think someone is going to knock it off? ....please be real.

Does anyone really think Quirky can develop a product and launch it in 24 hours?

I’m sorry if you feel like your family member got scammed “dev” – but I didn’t do it.

Well Dev,and Mary your about to get the proof the UIA Director is not telling the truth about his inventions..........
2011 Board Position Nomination Form

All nominations MUST be emailed in PDF format to admin@uiausa.org no later than November 15th 2011

My question is who gets the emails and nomination forms at admin@uiausa.org.......Is it Mark Reyland ? Hmmmmm

Mark Reyland lied his way into the UIA !

Now that Warren Tuttle is on his way out of the United Inventors Association (UIA) hopefully his replacement will be interested in protection inventors from predators like Reyland .

It was hard to expect Warren to do anything about Mark when he’s moving onto bigger and better things and probably didn’t want to get into the nightmare of Mark Reyland. So who is going to want to take his place and sort out such a big mess?

Hopefully nobody involved with Reyland! We can all understand Mark wanting to steer the board members into bringing in someone he knows is perfect for the position. In other words, someone who won’t question him. We also hope the board members actually look into this next guy. Anyone with any previous affiliation with Mark should NOT get this position.
This is part time for most if not all the board members but it’s a full time job for Mark Reyland. Call it a make job program because he doesn’t make income any other way. No products in retail and no licensing agreements. He’s even lost the license agreements he had with inventors because he couldn’t bring their products to market. Failure all around and now he’s failing the UIA with his bogus claims against people but continued criminal actions against inventors.

Non profit organizations are expected to have transparency and be open to public questions. He did nothing but attack anyone who questioned his qualifications and his criminal acts against inventors and the general public. Non profit organizations are owned by the general public and we deserve answers. The non profit sector is one of the dirtiest sectors in the USA and growing. It’s time to stop letting conmen hide behind these masks of public trust.

Mark says to pull the masks off people who stalk. We agree and we have with the biggest stalker and harasser of all is the one calling for this, Mark Reyland executive director of the United Inventors association (UIA)!
Reyland has left paper trails and Internet trails miles long for anyone to find if they want to find it.

Understanding the UIA was most likely organized more for a business ring of contacts, resulting in more business and more money for each board member is a given. Hiding behind the claim that they are a non profit looking out for inventors is not so easy to swallow. Not since they didn’t do their home work and hired Mark Reyland. How can they protect inventors when they brought in one of the biggest criminals and frauds in this industry?

As inventors, all we can do is hope the UIA wants to step it up and take responsibility for what they’ve done by bringing in someone who can clean up the mess. I think Warren Tuttle realized quickly that he lost control on Mark when he started posting crazy stuff in public.
The UIA UK wasn’t so stupid...
